Our Vision
Be a Friend, Make a Friend,
Bring a Friend To Christ
Our Mission Statement
To bring the community to Christ by building trust,
serving others, and creating a sense of family and
friendship through the worship and praise of God,
all in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
in union with the whole Catholic Church, Mary,
all the angels and saints, especially Saint Rita.
Brief Parish History
Our parish began as a mission founded by Father Michael Devaney, O.M.I. on March 10, 1979. Our first Pastor, Father Walter J. Dockerill, was appointed to guide our faith community on July 1, 1980 when the first Mass was celebrated as Saint Rita Catholic Church. For the first few years, we celebrated Mass in the Lions Club in Royal Palm Beach until our Parish Center was completed. Outgrowing the Parish Center after a few years, our Church building was constructed and dedicated on September 20, 1992 where Mass is celebrated today. Our Parish Center continues to exist with offices, gift shop, Early Childhood Program, Youth Ministry, general meeting and hall areas. Since then, Father Dockerill retired in 2002 and our second and current Pastor, Father Donald R. Munro was appointed on July 1, 2002 and installed on December 28, 2002 to lead our community of approximately 6000 registered families. Future plans include a teardown of our existing Parish Center and construction of a new 3 story building to house the many growing ministries, gift shop, and administrative offices.
