We are so blessed to be able to offer our fifth year of Growing In Faith Together. By encompassing all the generations of our parish and focusing on lifelong faith formation, we have been able to help our adults to further develop their own Catholic identity as well as empowering the parents to be able to live out the vow they made to be their child's primary catechist through Baptism. Our goal is to help our families to live and experience their faith together with their children.

Our theme for for the 2010-2011 year is:
ACTING FOR JUSTICE: FOLLOWING JESUS

Our 2010 -2011 year of GIFT Events will be focused on Justice, Peace and our Catholic Social Teaching. Our faith calls us to incorporate these teachings into our lifelong commitment to serve the Lord while serving others.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops states "Our faith calls us to work for justice; to serve those in need; to pursue peace; and to defend the life, dignity, and rights of all of our sisters and brothers.  This is the call of Jesus, the challenge of the prophets, and the living tradtion of our Church."

Our first event of the year was held in conjunction with our Parish Festival. Deacon Dennis highlighted the need for us to actively participate in promoting Social Justice within our parish, our community and worldwide. The children were treated to live story presentations by John Cesta as they enjoyed his show. click here for pictures from the festival

During our second event, which was held during the month of October, we explored the Catholic teachings on the Dignity of Human Life. We emphasized how we are all created in the image and likeness of God. Wouldn't life be wonderful if we treated every person we encounter each day in our lives with the dignity and respect that Jesus showed to all people?

At our events, each family was given a "foot" to record the action for social justice that their family will perform during the month. Please remember to bring the foot back completed to your next event. A picture of your family completing their social justice action is appreciated as well. We will be posting them on our "Acting For Justice" wall located in the front of the Parish Hall.

All of our families are encouraged to buy a Brick for the Walk of Faith area within the Church Pavilion. You and your family will be able to design your own brick which will become part of the permanent walkway for our Parish.  click here for more information

Did you know that we have online courses for our Catechists and anyone else interested in further study of our catechesis? click here for further information

We pray that God will bless you and your family as we continue on our journey of Growing In Faith Together, striving to learn more as one faith community while responding to the social issues that affect others as well as our own community.

PLEASE PRAY DAILY AS A FAMILY.
